I have been admitted at the hospital because of bronchial asthma and I happened to finish watching 16 episodes of Clean With Passion For Now & I did appreciate this Rom-Com KDrama. 😍 I have done so much of a research prior to giving this drama a go & I did not regret my decision.
This is my first and personal review for a KDrama, although I am not really a fan of these actors (I am a faithful fangirl to my idols, btw! 😍). I am also unfamiliar of the drama as this has only been recommended by a friend (mentioned from my previous post).
Also, I am not a webtoon fan, I have not explored the world of webtoons yet 😁 (soon?), so FYI, this drama is based on a webtoon series. I have checked some of the webtoon reviews vs. the drama and I have discovered that the drama added another character that's not part of the original casts for a unique ploy.
Let's get started!
I found some scenes of the first episode so hilarious, it made me decide to keep up with the next episode, and so on. 😁
After the intense show-off of how clean and germophobic the chaebol, CEO of his own company "Cleaning Fairy" Jang Seon-Kyul's (Yoon Kyung-Sang) lifestyle is, Gil Oh-Sol (Kim Yoo-Jung) on the other hand was portrayed as the total opposite of him.
I cannot imagine how on earth they'd really going to end up together while watching the first few episodes. 😁
There was that part on the first episode when Gil Oh-Sol had to be a garbage collector to temporarily take over for his dad's job and I totally cracked up with the horse-head, garbage chaos scenes. 😂 [Stop! Spoiler alert]⛔
The main thing: Clean With Passion For Now is another Cinderella-like drama with a twist. You know that prince-charming-&-poor-lady-plus-the-wicked-step-mom set-up. 😁 It's just the same!
Here, Seon-Kyul as the Prince Charming (CEO, clean, elegant, intelligent, with OCD). Oh-Sol is Cinderella (an average, untidy, dirty pretty young lady). Seon-Kyul's grandfather is the wicked step mom (the harsh Chairman and grandpa of Seon-Kyul who did everything to stop the main casts' love affair). Although this drama is quite common, I still like that light-heart feeling watching this, especially that I stayed in the hospital for days. I have been satisfied with this masterpiece as I avoided watching heavy, complicated dramas in my current condition.
The plot twist: There's no complicated plot twist in this drama. This is one kind of a drama that you'll still be watching even if you already know what the ending would be. 😜
The chemistry: Ok, I gotta be honest, the main characters' chemistry was not appealing, although Yoon & Kim gave their best shot in acting, I wasn't really moved. The same feedback goes to Dr. Daniel Choi (Song Jae-rim - the third-party of their love triangle) who isn't really part of the webtoon casts - he's so common and non-appealing at all.
Kissing scenes: (Of the last few episodes) Oh well, I am not actually impressed of the intimate scenes of Jang Seon-Kyul and Gil Oh-Sol's 😕. I have set aside the real-life age gap of the actors btw, (Yoon Kyung-Sang, 31 & Kim Yoo-Jung, 19) however, I still find it really sloppy and awkward! 😝 I have replayed the scenes multiple times and I didn't get the right jigsaw to complete the puzzle. 😑
Overall: I give this drama an 8/10 stars. I highly recommed this if you want a light, easy, romantic comedy kind of like masterpiece.
